#SelfLoveSunday – 7 Sunday Habits To Start the Week Off Right

Oh Sunday, some love you and some hate you.

I personally LOVE Sunday.

Sunday is always my time for relaxing (as long as I don’t have too much school work), and it is always my time to prepare for the new week.

There are certain habits that I have developed over the past few years, and these really do MAKE or BREAK my upcoming week. Today I will  be sharing some of these habits with you, so that you can maybe love Sunday just a little bit more.

But, before we jump in be sure to follow my InstagramFacebook and Pinterest to get more updates from me on my day to day life.

Habit #1 – Reflect

Sunday is a great time to reflect on the past week and prepare for the upcoming week.  Now is the time to reflect on the good and bad from the past week.
What did you accomplish?
What did you let fall on the back burner?
What was something new that you tried?

Once you reflect on your week, it is time to think of actions you can take to improve.
What do you want to accomplish this week?
What hobbies or activities do you want to make time for this week?
What are you doing to work towards your goals?

Once you have those action plans, make sure to put them into some planning…

Habit #2 – Plan, Plan, Plan

You might be thinking, well duh, obviously we need to plan. But, for some this may not be so intuitive. So I challenge you to really take 30 minutes on Sunday to PLAN. Plan your meals for the week, plan your workouts, plan your tasks and events out, plan it ALL.

Make sure that in this portion you also plan in your action steps that you determined in your reflection process. This will help you to feel organized and ready for the new week.

Habit #3 – Meal Prep

This is something that I started doing a lot more this school year because my schedule is SO busy. I am sure that many of you can relate to this, so I think that meal prepping is absolutely essential for all my busy-bees out there.
For my meal prepping I like to make some veg, carbs, and some protein.
For my vegetables I like to steam or roast a bunch of broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, or really whatever is in season at the time.
For the carbs I like to whip up some pasta or some rice.
Lastly, for the protein I like to cook up some chicken breasts.
I like to take the vegetables, carbs and protein and make bowls throughout the week. This is a really easy way to ensure that you will always have a lunch ready for you throughout the week. You can also experiment with different sauces and combinations week-to-week to keep things fresh.

Habit #4 – Plan Your Outfits

This may seem a little extreme for some of you, but I swear that this really helps to save time throughout the week.

Not only does it save time, it also helps to keep your outfits fresh and new. I try to challenge myself every Sunday to plan out my outfits based on what events or classes I have that week. While doing so, I also try to mix up my outfits and try new combinations.

Habit #5 – Clean Up

It is SO important to clean up your house at the end of the week. Otherwise, you will kick off Monday with a messy house, and a messy house often leads to a messy brain. So take the time to clean up, even if it just a small amount of cleaning. You want to start the week off feeling FRESH, and you can’t do that if your house is in shambles.

Habit #6 – Rest and Decompress

Every Sunday night I make sure to REST. I use a lot of my Sunday to prepare for the week ahead, so I spend the remainder of the day to chill. Watch my favorite movie or show, do some extra pampering steps in my night routine, or do some light yoga to wind down. I think it is so important to take time for YOU on a Sunday in order to reset.

Habit #7 – Go to Bed Early

I am a firm believer that your day starts the night before.

If you get into bed at a decent time and sleep for 7-9 hours you are much more likely to feel good and refreshed Monday morning. So, make sure that you do everything in your power to set yourself up for a good night sleep. Diffuse some Lavender essential oil, take a calming bath, swap your phone for a real book, and get all your work done and out of the way early in the day.

Don’t underestimate sleep, it really does make a HUGE difference in your mood and overall well being.

That’s all I have got for you today, I hope that you really enjoyed this post and that it inspired you to change your Sunday routine.
